Meet Sally, Poochie-Pets’ Operations Manager. She not only keeps our manufacturing process working efficiently, but she is also instrumental in design, creation, and distribution of our new products. She honed her skills in retail management with Lord & Taylor and Coach in NYC, and later worked in New England as a representative for Monet Jewelry.
A Bit Of History
Sally’s history with Poochie-Pets began at its inception 10 years ago when she became its first employee. Her first job was taking each of the PoochieBells® bone tags out of their packaging. She would open the tags during her son’s swimming lessons, then take them over to Cheryl Pedersen, the founder of Poochie-Pets, saving Cheryl a lot of time. As Poochie-Pets grew, the company was able to take advantage of Sally’s merchandising experience, and Sally’s role evolved with the company.
“From a professional standpoint, it’s fun to learn all the parts of a small business,” says Sally. Her job, developing products and bringing them to market, allows her to turn ideas and plans into products and marketing strategies. Her favorite product is the new line of All Breeds Club ribbons. “I’m excited to be able to give our customers another way to express their love of their dogs’ breed. We found an artist to create our custom designs that look unlike any other breed-specific products. Also, the All-breeds product line uses new ribbon-printing technology that wasn’t available just five years ago.”
But for Sally, the best part about working at Poochie-Pets is spending 8+ hours a day with people she really enjoys. Many of her coworkers have been there for years, like she has, and their friendships have grown along with the business. She also enjoys working with Cheryl, who has a true entrepreneurial spirit—willing to try everything.
Today is a particularly special day for Sally as it is her and her husband Pete’s 27th wedding anniversary. They will be celebrating with their three children, Garrett, Hannah, and Collin.
